Brief 1: Lowknight Album Artwork - Existing Album Artwork

I decided to look at what's already out there with electronic album artwork to get an idea of the style. I know I want to do something quite abstract, which isn't the way I usually work so I wanted to see what was considered 'good' design.

I really like double exposures and think they can work well with abstract design to show more than one meaning. This would fit with my brief due to the multiple meanings the client wants conveying.

I love how vibrant this design is, and the contrast of colours. I think although it is abstract, some of the shapes are really clear and it's very interesting. I like how the colour of the bear fits in with the album title.

I like the colours on this as they all work together - I like to use a gradient map to achieve similar colours over the whole design. I also like how the text is quite alternative, and is a bit different. It relates to electronic music.

I love this burst of colour, and I think the effect is really soft and unusual. I think it would make people stop to see if they can figure out what it is - or isn't. To achieve this kind of look, I would probably use the liquify tool and experiment with different brushes.

I love this digital manipulation, and I think it's really clean and clever how the smoke is incorporated into the design. Realistically, I don't think I could achieve something like this yet, and I think it may be too polished for my client anyway.

I like this use of multiple exposure, and the use of different opacities. Photography is something that I definitely want to explore.

I love the colours on this and how they all work well together, as well as the abstract design. It's very bright and draws you in.
